UTB Tractors
Tractorul-UTB SA is a major manufacturing company of tractors, motors and tractor spare parts. The company is a dominant player in Eastern Europe with its production facilities located in Romania. However, it markets its products Europe and worldwide, receiving multi million dollars orders from far away locations such as India or South America.
The company originated as a pre WW2 manufacturer of aircraft with its original name of Tractorul Braslov Factory (UTB). After the conclusion of the war, the company started to produce models based on Fiat design and export them initially to the USA where they were re-branded by Long Comp.
On September 17, 2004, the company was awarded an ISO 14001:1997 Environmental Management Certificate. Furthermore, an entire production line of UTB tractors is certified according to the US EPA standards as well as UK VCA standards. Addition certifications include those of OECD in Denmark, and INMA-CERT and RAR in Romania.
